The extraction of wisdom teeth or wisdom teeth is generally an outpatient procedure that people often consider to take out insurance. There are different types of dental and medical policies to deal with coverage.
We tell you the differences in price, coverage, franchises, copays if they have them, and deficiencies.
EXTRACTION OF WISDOM TEETH WITH DENTAL MODULE
The most suitable modality to propose a wisdom tooth extraction is Adeslas dental.
The cost of the Adeslas dental policy is €12/month for an insured who does not have the health module, and it costs €8.93/month for those insured who already have health, so the cost of the policy could be very comfortable monthly.
Adela’s dental does not have a deficiency, nor a questionnaire with which the company will be able to cover the extraction of wisdom teeth from the first day of discharge, that is, with a dental deductible that will be paid directly at the clinic unless it is financed with the clinic.
The dental deductible for a wisdom tooth extraction will be €55 if carried out in an Adeslas dental clinic. In contrast, the cost of the same outpatient intervention in dental clinics arranged with the company but not belonging to it will be €95 for each tooth of judgment.
Diagnostic tests for wisdom tooth extraction in Adeslas dental: At least one orthopantomography or dental panoramic will always be performed; If this test is carried out in an Adeslas dental clinic, the cost will be €0, and if it is carried out in concerted clinics, it will be €11
CT scan for extraction of wisdom teeth: Often, the panoramic view may not be enough; In the case of requesting a CAT scan, at Adeslas dental clinics, the cost will be €80 for one arch and €105 for both arches. On the other hand, if it is performed in concerted clinics that do not belong to the company, the CT scan cost is €115 for one arch and €150 for both.
EXTRACTION OF WISDOM TEETH WITH MEDICAL COVERAGE
Policies with hospitalization in Adeslas of the Adeslas Plena Vital, Plena plus, and business (self-employed and companies ) types do have wisdom tooth extraction coverage. Still, in this case, they do have a 3-month grace period for a tooth extraction—trial and perform a CT scan.
These complete policies have a medical questionnaire. The intention of possible outpatient intervention must be indicated in the case of being aware of it so that the company can assess it.
It is important to note that policies that do not include hospitalization, such as basic Adeslas, do not have this outpatient intervention coverage and will not accommodate this wisdom tooth removal coverage.
Within the complete policies, with ambulatory surgery, we will have to differentiate between approaches with and without copays. Still, it is recommended for these cases to consider insurance without copays, whether private, self-employed, or companies, since insurance with copays implies copays for the first visit to a specialist, a panoramic test, and possibly another visit subsequent CT scan, evaluation again by the specialist. Then the final stop for the extraction, which may be done two at a time, or on many occasions makes an extraction every day, with which the copays will be, in addition to the tests and consultations with a specialist, up to 4 subsequent visits to the dentist for the intervention of 4 wisdom teeth.
