How to Ensure the proper functioning of the Air Conditioner:
There are days, especially in summer, when you can’t even give up an air conditioner. The heat of the season causes an increase both in consumption and in the acquisition of equipment. A survey carried out by GetNinjas revealed that in December of last year alone, demand for the equipment grew by 44%. But to ensure proper functioning and avoid health complications, some care is needed.
What a Dirty Air Conditioner Can Cause:
A dirty air conditioner, in addition to not properly cooling the environment, can cause a number of health problems.
The main health risks are the triggering of respiratory diseases and the drying of lung mucus. For those who already have a complication such as rhinitis, asthma or bronchitis, the chances of developing allergic crises increase. Understand more about the importance of ensuring air quality.
With the Covid-19 pandemic, another question that arose was about the use or not of air conditioning in environments. To address the issue, we put together an e-book that answers this question and explains how to proceed. Download the eBook for free.
Air conditioning care:
1- Clean the device and change the Filter Periodically:
Dirty or clogged filters restrict the passage of air, which leads to reduced cooling and thus increased energy consumption.
It is recommended that the filters are cleaned at least once a month. If the appliance is constantly on, cleaning must be carried out more frequently. The process can be done with the help of a brush. Changing the filter needs to be done every 6 months. Check out some tips on how to clean your air conditioner.
The filters are located in the evaporator unit which is inside. To perform maintenance, you need to analyze:
- Whether the filter is clean;
- Whether the fan is working well;
- Whether the outside is kept clean;
- That the circulation and heat exchange fins are in good working order.
The fins, which are responsible for directing the air, can be cleaned with a low pressure water jet or compressed air in the opposite direction.
Maintenance, in the condensing unit, needs to happen every 6 months, to avoid the accumulation of dust, leaves, bird nests, among others. To do this, remove the container from the appliance and clean it with the greatest care.
2- Check the Refrigerant Gas:
The refrigerant gas is the main responsible for the cooling of the place. Its function is to remove heat from the evaporator unit and transfer it to the condenser. If there is not enough fluid, the air conditioner does not cool properly. Therefore, it is essential to regularly check the amount of gas and refill if necessary.
3- Check the Drain:
Another important part of the appliance is the drain. He is responsible for removing the water from the evaporator unit. With use, the drain often gets clogged, which compromises the cooling process. To check is simple, just analyze if the tray is accumulating water during operation, if it is, the drain is probably blocked. For Kitchen sink installation click here
4-Perform the Sanitation:
Sanitation is the process after cleaning, so they should not be confused. Unlike cleaning, Sanitation is a more in-depth process, and a specialized company must be hired to carry it out, as each piece receives a specific treatment.
