HOW TO FIX WII REMOTE PROBLEMS

Having a problem with your Wii remote? Below is a guide on how to fix the most common Wii remote problems.

Tilt problems:

  1. Check the motion sensors functionality by holding the remote with the button side facing down. Now tap the button side youme power battery of the remote against the palm of your opposite hand, but remember to try not to use too much force when doing this. You can damage your remote by doing this with too much force. Doing this doesn’t take much force, so you don’t exactly have to tap hard to see results.
  2. If the solution above doesn’t work, during game play, you can try placing the remote in a neutral position on a flat surface.

Remote batteries run out fast:

  1. A brand new set of alkaline batteries should last for up to 30 hours. How long it lasts can depend on many factors, such as the quality of the battery, age of the battery, type of game being played, remote speaker volume, and even rumble.
  2. If you are using rechargeable batteries instead, it is important to know that Nickel Metal Hydride batteries are the only recommended batteries you should use with your remote. You need to follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for safety and proper usage. Failure to abide by this can void your warranty.
  3. To conserve battery, you can put your Wii into burn-in reduction mode. In burn-in reduction mode, the remote will go into sleep mode if the wii is turned off, or after 5 minutes of inactivity. In most cases, this is the best solution for conserving your battery.

Remote does not rumble

  1. Verify that the remotes power isn’t low by going to the HOME menu
  2. Verify that the rumble feature is turned ON in the Wii remote settings.
  3. The remote should rumble slightly if you go to the Wii menu and point at the Wii button located on the bottom left corner of the screen. You can do this to check that the rumble feature is working. If not, your remote may need repair.

Buttons are not responding:

You may want to check the games manual to see if the non-responding buttons are actually used in the game as some games do not use all of the Wii’s buttons or features.

The Sugar Festival in Clewiston, Florida

Clewiston is an interesting little town in the middle of south Florida. Though it isn’t coastal, it is located on the banks of Lake Okeechobee (that’s right! The second largest freshwater lake in the United States! THAT Lake Okeechobee!) It is, according to the city’s fathers, “America’s Sweetest Town,” no doubt because of the large amounts of sugar cane grown there (interestingly, the reception you get from the townspeople can be somewhat cold). They like to say that they are “in the middle of everywhere” – that is to say that they are about 60 miles from Ft. Myers in the southwest and 60 miles from Palm Beach in east. While there are always some things to do in Clewiston year round – bass fishing in Lake Okeechobee is always good – every April, the town really comes into its own with the Sugar Festival.

The Sugar Festival takes place over two weekends – the second and third Fridays and Saturdays in April. Like all county-style fairs, you will find standards like farming equipment expos and a beauty pageant (where they crown an annual Miss Sugar). One of my favorite events localized to the Clewiston festival is the Taste of Sugar Dessert Contest, youme lipo where chefs of all types strive to make the most delectable sugary creations they can. Other highlights include an old fashioned cane sugar grinding exhibition (surprisingly interesting) and an antique car show. Admission to the festivities is free, so why not? It really is the highlight of Clewiston’s entertainment offerings.

Since you’re already going broke to go to the sugar festival, it’s worth considering renting a limousine from Millenium Limo to go to your favorite event (be it the Miss Sugar Pageant, the rodeo, or the bass fishing tournament.) It would wow the Clewiston small-towners, and be pretty entertaining to boot. Clewiston will never look at you the same again!
