I am a huge fan of Snapchat however I’d be the first to admit that the interface for users is…poor. If you’re trying Snapchat to the first time and get lost The following are the basic rules to follow.
How to take a Photo or Video Snapchq
When you first launch Snapchat when you first open it, you’ll see an image that resembles this.
It’s not going to have my face however the display will display what one of the camera’s on your smartphone is viewing. There’s plenty going on in this, so let’s go through things one icon at a time.
- Tap the camera icon on the top right corner to switch between the front and back camera.
- Click Lightning Bolt on the upper left hand corner to turn the flash off and on. Snapchat uses the phone’s flash feature for Snaps that are taken using the standard camera, and it will make the screen bright yellow to show Snaps that are taken using the front camera.
- Hit the Chat button at the lower left corner or swipe left to access the Chat screen, from where you’ll find all the Snaps that your friends have sent to you, and also where you can send messages to yourself.
- Tap the three circle icon at the bottom of the screen or move to the left to open the Stories screen, where you will be able to look through all your friends’ Stories.
- Touch the Snapchat log at the at the top of the screen or swipe to go to the Settings screen.
- Click the circle on the lower right of the screen or swipe upwards to access your Memories.
The big circle in the middle represents the typical symbol for shutter. We’ll talk about making use of it to snap photos.
To take a picture Snap to tap on that big circle. It is also possible to press it to capture a video. When you hold it in place, Snapchat will record up to 10 minutes of footage.
How to edit a Snapchq (and add Text, Stickers or other stuff)
Here is where you can modify your Snap and add text and alter the length it will last. Again, let’s do it one icon at a time.
- Click the X icon at the upper left corner to end the Snap.
- Click the clock icon on the bottom left hand corner to change the duration of time that the Snap will be visible to your acquaintances.
- Click the download icon at the lower left corner in order to download your Snap to your Memories.
- Tap the icon that has the small plus on the lower left corner in order to save Snap Snap into your story.
- In the upper right corner the four icons provide different ways to modify the look of your Snap.
Let’s look at these four icons. Click the pencil icon to begin drawing using a pen over your Snap. You can alter the color you’re using using the slider or erase a stroke of your brush using the tiny undo icon. Press it once more to return to the Edit Snap screen.
How do I send a Message using Snapchat
Snapchat allows you to send text messages that are disposable to your friends. This is what is referred to as “Chat”. In the primary screen tap on the chat icon at the left-hand corner, or swipe left to access chat screen.
If you want to send an email, simply write down what you would like to convey and click Send.
It is also possible to send images via your smartphone using Snapchat Chat. Tap the photo icon and choose the picture you wish to send.
Click Edit if you wish to add filters, text , or Emojis to your photo. Or, use the blue arrows in order to send the image.
For sending a stickers to a friend, click the emoji icon to the right. It is possible to send all system emojis, Snapchat’s customized stickers, as well as Bitmoji.
Snapchat can also support video and voice calling however it’s not very well-known. Press the telephone icon to initiate calling using voice, and click the image icon begin video calls.
If you are just looking to send a standard Snap then tap the circle that is located in the middle on the display.
Snapchat Chat messages Snapchat Chat are a bit different from normal Snaps. Chat messages don’t have a limitation. When the user is able to open their message they are able to go through it the length they like. After they exit their chat area, it disappears unless they save it.
If either you or the receiver taps and holds any Chat text, that message will be stored to chat. Both users are able look over any saved messages and you’ll know for certain that you have saved messages. This is to make sure that you can send messages like directions on Snapchat without them disappearing before someone else is able to navigate them.
The message can be unravaged to the individual who first saved them by pressing the message once more. If both of them are saving the messages they will need un-save the message in order for it to vanish.
Similar to regular Snaps when the person who is receiving it opens a chat, you’ll receive a notification informing you. There are some of these notifications in my screen shots.
There’s beyond Snapchat than this but these are the fundamentals of beginning. It can be a bit confusing at first, but when you’ve mastered it, it will become automatic.
