What is a Backup?
A backup is a copy of your data that you make to protect it in case something happens to the original. Sage offers two types of backups: scheduled and point-in-time.
Scheduled backups are made automatically every day at noon, and they include all of your data from the previous 24 hours. Point-in-time backups are made when you choose them, and they include only the data that has changed since the last point-in-time backup.
If you need to restore your data from a backup, you first need to find the backup file. You can do this by clicking on “Backups” in the “Sage 50cloud” menu on your computer, selecting the date range for which you want to restore backups, and then clicking on “Backups.” Once you’ve found the backup file, you can restore it by clicking on “Restore.” If you want to create a “best fit” backup, you can do this by clicking on the “Best Fit” button in the Sage backup menu, and selecting the date range for which you want to create this type of backup. Best fit backups will be created only if there are no point-in-time backups or point-in-time snapshots available; otherwise they will be marked as a “best fit” backup so that your system knows when to perform those best fit backups automatically
