- Now locate the QBPOS Shell process and right-click it.
- Choose the End Task option and confirm the action by pressing Yes.
- Now go to the Windows File Explorer by pressing the Windows + E keys and click the View tab.
- Put a checkmark next to the Hidden Items checkbox and navigate to the C:\Users\{User logged on}\AppData\Local\Intuit folder.
- Open the QBPOS folder, right-click the file named user.config, and select the Rename option.
- Add old at the end of the file name and save it.

Solution 2: Use a New Admin Account to Access QuickBooks POS
- Go to the settings of your system and move to the Accounts settings.
- Choose the Family & other users (Other users) option and click Add someone else to this PC.
- Select the I don’t have this person’s sign-in information option on the next screen and hit the Add a user without a Microsoft account option.
- Choose a username and password for the new account and click Next.
- Go back to the Account settings once again and choose the Family & other users (Other users) option.
- Click the name of the user account you have just created and select Change account type.
