Tips to Build Your Dream Kitchen

Now that you’ve seen how your kitchen interior design works, let’s start thinking about each item separately and analyzing the options that each step offers.

Arrangement of Service Areas and Common Areas:

This is a step that you must have already eliminated, if you hired an architect for the elaboration of your project. During the pre-project procedure presented by the architectural professional, the distribution of space as well as cabinets, furniture and appliances, was already thought for your well-being and to make the use of the kitchen more dynamic.

If you still have any doubts, analyze the storage areas (such as the fridge, cabinets and freezer).  The cleaning zones (sink, dish drainer and dishwasher if you have one), preparation zones (counter or table where the food will be prepared), the area where you will cook (in this area, we consider all the appliances that help you cook, such as the stove, microwave, oven), and, finally, the serving area, which, depending on your environment, can be a table or bench.

If you don’t spend so much time in your kitchen, don’t host family or friends, and have a small space, prefer a bench for quick meals. Now, if you have a large space, like to receive your friends and family, but also consume quick meals during the week, why not a table and a bench?

Use your imagination and think about what you really need.

Choose Your Style:

Contemporary style can suit you very well, who like to always be up to date with trends and prefer to combine functionality with aesthetics. But if you prefer to prioritize only the essential and functional, minimalism can be the ideal style for your kitchen interior project. Or, if you’re a fan of an environment full of personality and want to get away from the ordinary, maybe an industrial-style kitchen? For DIY Plumbing Click here

Anyway, research and study well a style for your interior project, think about practicality but also think about making the environment your own, after all it is a room where you will spend a good time of your day.

Color Palette:

Now that your style has been defined, the color palette is an important step for the environment to finish adapting to the style you identified.

In the minimalist style, for example, light colors are the icing on the cake. If you chose the industrial style, investing in a burnt cement wall can bring more personality to your industrial kitchen, a texture that also fits very well in the contemporary style. How about a refined rustic? Earthy tones are the solution to rock.

Cabinets and the Ceiling Are Your Allies:

Don’t worry about including multiple cabinets in your project, they will definitely come in handy in some way. If your space is not so large, look for custom cabinets, they will certainly adapt well to the space and bring more visual harmony.

However, if you like to leave your utensils on display, such as your special edition pans or that spatula developed by that chef you accompany, there is also the possibility of investing in hanging cabinets, clotheslines, shelves, etc.

Abuse your creativity and explore your space!

Lighting Is Essential:

It is important to think about the lighting of the room as a whole, preventing any space from being too lit or poorly lit. Food needs to be presentable and appetizing, so shadows or lack of lighting can make it look different than intended.

Invest in LED strips in the cabinets for extra lighting, research the ideal color (sometimes, a more yellow light can help bring the necessary “warmness” to the cold color environment), add pendant lamps over the countertop or table .

A tip is to leave the lighting as natural as possible, leave the windows exposed and whenever possible open for ventilation.

Bonus Tip:

When the project is finalized by your architect, always check the arrangement of the furniture in relation to the appliances, according to the arrangement of the work areas, as we saw earlier. Remember that the splatters of the stove and grease, can harm nearby appliances or cupboards within reach. For Plumbing Services Click here

Try to visualize your cooking process, tracing your way through the cupboards where the food is stored, passing through the area where you will cook and ending at the table or bench where you will eat. If necessary, simulate a new arrangement of your furniture to find the best position for each one.
